SNJ Cappies
As the curtain prepares to rise on another thrilling season of high school theatre, excitement is palpable throughout Southern New Jersey.
The SNJ Cappies, which began its journey in 2018 with just six participating schools, has blossomed remarkably over the years. Now, entering its sixth full season, the program has expanded to now include 18 local high schools across Southern New Jersey.
This incredible growth reflects not only the passion for the performing arts among students but also the unwavering support from educators and the community. Each year, more talented young performers, writers, and technicians join the ranks, eager to showcase their creativity and dedication on and off stage. The Cappies program empowers student critics to sharpen their voices through journalism. By attending and reviewing productions, these young writers gain invaluable real-world experience, learning how to analyze, communicate, and publish their reviews with professionalism. Through our ongoing partnership with Follow South Jersey, Cappies reviews reach a wider audience, giving students a meaningful platform to share their insights and spotlight the outstanding theatre happening across Southern New Jersey. Together, these opportunities highlight the unique dual mission of Cappies: to nurture both the artists on stage and the storytellers who bring their work to the community.
